蘋果在哪裡？

想不通，這些水果的英文為啥跟蘋果扯上關係……難道阿兜仔就是愛蘋果嗎？

鳳梨／pineapple
只找到跟 pine 有關的解釋：The fruit was named "pineapple" because of its resemblance to a pine cone. wiki 還繼續寫了一大段，可是完全沒提到為何用到 apple。
台灣的鳳梨是清朝末年由中國南方引進的。
日文因為是外來語，就用片假名寫パイナップル。

蓮霧／wax apple
還有 water apple, mountain apple, bell fruit 等說法（個人覺得 bell fruit 跟楊桃=star fruit 有異曲同工之妙）。
至於中文為何叫蓮霧，據說是因為：台灣的蓮霧是17世紀由荷蘭人從印尼引進的，印尼文 Jambu 的發音就變成閩南語的蓮霧啦。
日文使用台語「蓮霧」音譯，以片假名寫成レンブ。

釋迦／sugar apple
也有 custard apple 的說法，但這個名字應該是指台灣所謂的鳳梨釋迦。wiki 則解釋了叫做 custard 的理由：The fruit flesh is white, and resembles and tastes like custard. The name "custard-apple" is frequently, though technically incorrectly, used to refer to this species.
台灣的釋迦也是數百年前由荷蘭人引進的。
日文査到「釈迦頭」和「仏頭果」兩種說法。
